EverWind is a Canadian company dedicated to helping accelerate the global transition to clean energy through the production of green hydrogen and ammonia. We are Canada’s leading developer of large-scale clean fuels projects, harnessing Atlantic Canada’s world-class wind resources in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Our wind farms will supply renewable power to produce low carbon fuels for international markets, while also creating opportunities to support cleaner industries and energy use here at home.
Our Story
EverWind is a Canadian company operating two closely linked businesses. First, we own and operate a long-standing transshipment terminal at Point Tupper. With extensive existing infrastructure, strategic Atlantic access, and the capability to manage large vessel movements, the terminal offers a strong and reliable foundation for regional and international logistics.
Building on this platform, EverWind is expanding the site to develop one of North America’s first commercial scale green hydrogen and ammonia facilities. By co-locating our new low carbon fuels project with the operating terminal, we can produce, store, and export clean fuels efficiently. This integration supports domestic emissions reductions, strengthens Canada’s long term energy competitiveness, and helps international partners meet their climate and energy security goals. Together, these two businesses position EverWind at the forefront of Atlantic Canada’s clean energy transition, leveraging legacy infrastructure to drive new investment, new jobs, and a more sustainable future.

The idea to launch EverWind’s clean fuels business emerged from a key challenge in the renewable energy sector. Wind and solar power are intermittent, and this limits how much renewables can contribute to energy systems on their own. Green hydrogen and ammonia provide a powerful solution. These storable, transportable fuels can be produced using renewable energy and then used when and where they are needed, bridging the gap between variable generation and consistent energy supply.
We believe green hydrogen and ammonia are essential tools in the global fight against climate change. They offer a practical, scalable way to reduce emissions in hard to decarbonize sectors such as agriculture, steel, shipping, and heavy industry. When used to replace fossil fuels in these sectors, clean hydrogen and ammonia help countries toward their climate targets while maintaining energy security. They also create a pathway to help decarbonize Canada’s own heavy industries and transportation systems, supporting national emissions reductions and long-term economic competitiveness.
EverWind is developing green hydrogen and ammonia to help meet Europe’s growing demand for clean, secure energy. As the European Union works to decarbonize its economy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, it has established Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) standards to ensure that imported clean fuels are genuinely sustainable. These standards require that fuels be produced using new renewable energy and achieve at least a 70 percent reduction in greenhouse gas intensity compared to fossil fuels, setting a global benchmark for clean energy.
To meet this need, we are advancing one of North America’s first green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Richmond County, Nova Scotia. Phase 1 of the Point Tupper Green Fuels Project is fully permitted, has completed Front-End Engineering Design, and is supported by leading global investors and technology partners. Once operational, it will produce approximately 200,000 tonnes of low carbon ammonia each year using new renewable energy.
Phase 2 is planned to add approximately 800,000 tonnes of additional low carbon ammonia production capacity. Together, these phases will anchor long-term clean energy production, major local investment, and significant economic benefits for communities across the region.
The project is also among the first in the world to receive third party pre-certification confirming that it meets RFNBO requirements. This reinforces EverWind’s commitment to delivering green fuels that align with modern international standards.
Building on that foundation, we are advancing a second flagship project on the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, one of the world’s strongest wind energy regions. The Burin Peninsula Green Fuels Project represents a major opportunity for economic development, energy innovation, and lasting global impact.
Our Values
As we grow, we’re guided by our core commitments: sustainability, partnership, and integrity.
We are committed to environmental stewardship and transparent, science-based decision-making. We actively engage with Indigenous communities to ensure our work reflects the principles of reconciliation, shared benefit, and inclusive governance. In addition to our partnerships with First Nations, we work closely with municipal, provincial, and federal governments; industry experts and technology leaders; and local communities and partners across Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador to create meaningful local benefits, support good jobs and business opportunities, and minimize community and environmental impacts.
We take pride in our team and in building a workplace that values safety, curiosity, and care, and where people from all backgrounds feel empowered to shape the future of energy. We’ve built a team that strives for excellence on every level, allowing us to tackle ambitious ideas and create projects that work economically, technically, and environmentally, together.
With world-class deepwater ports, strong wind resources, and a skilled Atlantic Canadian workforce, we are proud to contribute to the development of Canada’s clean energy transition and to be doing it right here at home.
